With 27 consecutive seasons as a player for Takapuna RFC, including a stint as captain, and serving on the Management Committee with the role of Chairman, Chris has become a revered life member of the club. Chris also showcased his skills at a provincial level, representing and captaining Auckland, and even participated as an All Black Triallist. Additionally, he contributed to the ARU’s Management Committee.
Chris’ influence extended beyond Takapuna, as he played a pivotal role as the Founding Chairman of the North Harbour Rugby Union, subsequently serving as a Director and earning life membership. He also spearheaded the establishment of the North Harbour Stadium Trust, overseeing its construction, fundraising, and completion.
Prior to his retirement from day-to-day management, Chris enjoyed a successful 24-year career as an accountant in corporate settings before venturing into a lucrative importing business. Since retiring, he has been actively engaged as a Business Mentor for multiple clients and currently holds a Director position in a Charitable Trust.
Chris firmly believes in the power of a successful and inclusive club that promotes teamwork and sportsmanship, recognizing its potential to positively impact the surrounding community.
